Class of 2022

Congratulations Matrics of 2022!

Congratulations, Class of 2022

A message from your Class Guardians

Dear Matrics,

Shakespeare, in Romeo and Juliet, has Juliet utter the words, “Parting is such sweet sorrow” to Romeo as he descends from the balcony. This beautiful paradox captures the very mixed feelings that we have about having to let you go. While we are excited for you and wish to celebrate the end of your school journey, you are a part of the fabric of our lives and your leaving will be tinged with a deep sorrow.

It has been a pleasure being your guardians this year. You have worked hard, been accommodating, generous in your affection and stoic in your approach to the hardships of the process. Many of you have grown and matured into very lovely young adults and we are exceptionally proud of who you have become. We wish you flight. We wish you a pair of silver wings. But we also ask that you re-visit the sunflower field sometime in the future and re-connect with what has been your second home for many years.

Teachers, your devotion to and interest in the wellbeing of our students is a vital part of their success – thank you. Sincere thanks to the parents of the Class of 2022 for their unfailing support, encouragement, and strength over the years.

Dear parents, Michael Mount focuses on more than just leading our students towards a good matric. Our unique Waldorf curriculum encourages each student to think and excel in their own way, so they may go into the world as

“Free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives.”
~ Rudolf Steiner

Subsequently, we take this moment not only to celebrate all our students’ academic achievements, but also the well-rounded, self-assured human beings they have grown into over the course of their schooling.

Best wishes to this year’s Class 12 students, the Class of 2023. May you enjoy a prosperous and fulfilling matric year. And may you all, wherever your children are in the school, enjoy your Waldorf journey in 2023.
